Valentines Day Pictures

We didn't have any plans this year but Steve surprised me with a cinnamon roll from Ida's Bakery in the morning. I also got some flowers when I got home. It was very sweet and made my dad. I just got Steve a really funny card.

Gender Party - Feb. 2nd

IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went to get an ultrasound at the doctor's office due to spotting and cramping and found out we were having a girl. We weren't going to find out so all of us would be surprised at the Gender Party but I just couldn't wait. I was SOOOO happy and got tears in my eyes. Seeing our little peanut was awesome! She's not just a little blob like when we saw her when I was 6 weeks pregnant. She was moving and putting her hands over her face. I can't wait to see her again. Come on February 23rd. :-)

Here's what has happened in the last 2 weeks

  • We went crib and dresser shopping. Found the perfect one and getting ready to purchase this weekend. Steve and I are buying the crib and my parents are buying us the dresser.
  • I went to the doctor and found out I had placenta previa along with a uterus infection. This explains why I had some spotting and cramps. They will check me for placenta previa again when I go back on February 23th. I hope the baby has moved up a little because I really don't want to go on bed rest.
  • Steve went to NY for the weekend to visit Jay and Steve. Steve, Jay's brother, just bought land and is getting ready to build a house. My Steve was going to NY to check out the land and visit.
  • Jenna's mom is going to make you a quilt, bumper and crib skirt. I went to Hobby Lobby and found the perfect fabric. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
  • My parents had a Superbowl party. I won $25 for playing squares. I was pretty happy considering I only paid $5.00. It was a good time had by all.
  • I had a duck tape making purse party at my parents house for some work friends. There were 10 people who came and we had a great time. A lot of cool purses were made.
  • Steve bought me a car starter/alarm. Now baby and I won't freeze getting into the car after work. I think Steve is a little more excited about the starter because you can start the car up to 2 miles away. LOL. I just wanted to be able to start it while I was sitting at my desk.
  • Dad had shoulder surgery and is still recovering. He can't really do a lot of working out which is really hard for him. I've managed to hurt his arm twice because I forgot about it even though it was in a sling. Baby brain. :-)
  • I got my hair colored and added red highlights this time. It turned out really cute but 3 weeks later it has already faded. Jenna warned me it would fade quick but I still wanted to try it. Now I know.
  • Finally showing and some clothes are getting a little tight/uncomfortable. I need to go out and spend some money on maternity clothes. Also, I'm pretty sure baby grows majorly at night. I get HUGE at night. I've also been having some numbness on my left leg when I sleep on that side. It now just started to go numb when I sit down. If this little girl is sitting on my nerve, she needs to move over a little bit. Yes, I will be talking to her about this tonight.
  • Jace's bowling birthday party is this weekend. It will be a good time with family and friends. Even his girlfriend Emma will be there. :-)
  • Up coming events: Baby Ali will be here April 6th, Baby Mark will arrive in later April and Heather's wedding is April 21st. I will be very busy the month of April

14/15 weeks

Its been a busy couple of weeks. Here's what's been happening lately.

- had a doctors appointment last week. Baby Pierce had another strong heartbeat but it was between 145-150. My dad is convinced its a boy. I'm still hoping for a little girl. Our gender ultrasound at the doctors is February 23th. Gained 1.5 lbs this time. Both my doctor and I were happy.

- I've moved on from my salad cravings but the pickles are still a huge craving. I went to subway for Steve and got extra pickles for me. Lol. I opened his sandwich and ate all the pickles before he even knew I was home.

- Jenna turned 23! We went out to dinner at Bulls Head Tavern. Kellie, Shentel and I split a chicken ceaser salad and a chicken pasta. It was awesome! I'm ready to go back again really soon.

- Steve and I watched Jace for the weekend while Kellie and my parents were in Chicago. We had a lot of fun playing in the snow and just hanging out. We also meet the Arens family for dinner at the Dungon. I got a bomb ass grilled cheese with tomato and pickles. So...that's my new craving.

- I got my car back from the from the shop. It looks brand spanken new. The even detailed and washed my car. I was so happy!

- Steve and I started a fun calendar game. You can earn points everyday and after 2 weeks whoever has the most points gets a prize. I know it sounds silly, I thought so too, but we are having fun. I won the first 2 weeks. Steve has to buy me something nice. I can't wait to see what he picks for me.

- Katie told me about GVSU students doing ultrasounds. She scheduled 2 dates and they actually pay you $30. So of course I had to set up some appointments too. My first one is February 2nd. I will be 17 weeks at that pint so I'm hoping they will be able to see the gender before. Y actual doctors appointment.

- I've planned a gender party for February 2nd since I will have the ultrasound at GVSU. I'm going to have them out the gender in an envelope so I won't know either. I will meet up with Shentel afterwards and she is getting stuff ready for the party. She will be the only one who will know the gender. Family and a few close friends will come over and we will all find out together. I can't wait to have the party. I really need to do some shopping. I will be posting pictures for sure after the party.

Hopefully I didn't forget anything that happened in the last couple of weeks. Pictures of the weekend will Jace coming next. :)

2012 & New Years Eve

Wow, it's 2012! This is going to be such an exciting year, especially come July. I turn 28,we will welcome baby Pierce and Steve and I will be married for 5 years. Hard to believe its almost been 5 years. Also, in 2012 we will welcome 4 babies on the Maday side and my brother-in-law and sister-in-law are having baby number 3, my best friend Ali will have baby Mark and my dear friend Katie will have baby Ali. It's the year for babies. Come April, I will be 6 months pregnant and in my best friend Heather's wedding. I'm getting exhausted just thinking about all the things to come.

For New Years Eve, Steve and I had friends over. We had a bunch of good food and a couple good games of catch phrase. I little different not drinking this year but totally worth it. Everyone left around 12:30-1:00 so I could crash. That was a long day for me even thought I did get a short nap in. Steve was a little wasted and paid for it in the morning. Ahh....it felt nice not to be hung over. :)

Baby and I are still doing good. Still loving salads and pickles. Still trying to workout so I can stay healthy. Some days are harder to get there then others. I'm hoping to get the 20th off to start getting the baby's room together and the office stuff downstairs. I need to move the current guest room to the current office. Not a huge project but it will take some time. Kellie is going to help me. I'm going to need all the help I can get to stay motivated since I hate cleaning.

Next appointment January 12th. Can't wait to hear the heartbeat again.

Finally sinking in....

Last night I was in bed before Steve got home. He was visiting with his mom and brought home a bassinet to use for Baby Pierce. I woke up this morning to let Bella out and noticed it sitting in the family room. Seeing the bassinet made being pregnant 100% more real. For whatever reason, even after the ultra sound and hearing the heartbeat, being pregnant doesn't seem real yet. I thought once I heard the heartbeat that would be it. Hearing Baby Pierce's heartbeat was the best noise in the whole world but it just seems weird being pregnant still. I thought it was going to take some movement from the baby or actually getting the pregnant belly but I was wrong. It was the bassinet of all things. Steve said the same thing when I talked to him this morning on the phone. Since the morning, I've pretty much been smiling all day. It's such a cool feeling. :-)

Tomorrow is New Years Eve and Steve and I are having a few friends over. There will be 4 pregnant women over so I won't be the only one not drinking. I can't wait to eat some good food and hang out with friends. I think I'm most excited for my BEST FRIEND Kari to come home and visit tomorrow. She lives in California and I miss her sooooooo much. I can't wait to hangout with her and catch up. We always have a good time and share a lot of laughs. I wish she would just move back to MI. It's going to be hard to say goodbye again. Especially being pregnant, there will be some tears for sure. Dang....already have one in my eye now. LOL.
